High Tunnel Snow

Two days ago, we had up to 10” of snow that wanted to accumulate on the high tunnel roof. Snow is beautiful except when it all wants to stick to the top of a structure like a high tunnel. It adds a tremendous amount of weight to the plastic and frame and can threaten its very existence. Many high tunnels collapse under winter’s weight. Two nights ago, we had to get a little creative to begin the process of knocking it all off. Yes, that is a boxing glove on a PVC pipe.
